On today’s episode of Unrealistic Transfer Story, Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
The link, which came from Spanish outlet Marca, says that Bale is Newcastle’s “first choice” summer target once the takeover becomes official.
Over the last few weeks, United have been linked with a host of huge name footballers. Just yesterday, we brought you a story from the media that said the Toon were trying to do a deal for Bale’s teammate James Rodriguez.
As well as that, there’s been links to Antoine Griezmann, Edinson Cavani, Philippe Coutinho and Arturo Vidal to name but a few.
If and when this takeover does eventually go through, it’s going to be a long summer as agents use the Newcastle name to aid their efforts.
Be it trying to boost the value of their client, get them a new deal or broker a move away from their current club – with the new found riches United could be about to inherit, there’ll be a tonne of nonsense transfer links manufactured by agents and intermediaries this summer and beyond.
Gareth Bale is a phenomenal football player and I doubt there’s a single sane Newcastle fan who could ever turn up their nose at this – should it be true. We’d love a player of his quality on Tyneside but the chances are, this is yet more complete tosh.
Remain vigilant to the things you read in the media – especially when it comes from the likes of Marca, Le10Sport or Gazzetta Dello Sport.
